Market capacity development to build markets and trade

Enable Market Access

The International Trade Centre, She Trade initiative has outlined 7 global actions in which governments, companies and civil societies can make concrete pledges to remedy obstacles hampering female MSME business growth.  These include:  Champion Quality Data, Enact Fair Policies, Secure Government contracts, Strike Business Deals, Enable Market Access, Unlock financial services and Grant Ownership Rights.

The focus of our pledge is to enable market access and advance financial services. To enable market access, we create, curate and hold invitation only ‘gender themed’ events to build capacity for entrepreneurs in key markets. These events also create a platform for diverse businesses, institutions, academics to interact with women owned business.  These programmes are designed to advance female MSME’s at building their knowledge on growing and scaling businesses in home and new markets.

  • Knowledge development – enable women entrepreneurs to gain insights through shared experiences and institutions on how they can grow their business and enter new markets. The events provide the framework on how to assess products and markets for export potential and the opportunity for diversification.
  • Connect – our events facilitate connectivity to institutional supply chains. For institutions with a gender focus in supply chain, we create gender missions to new markets.
  • Spark ideas – create tailor-made industry themed workshops for women owned businesses discussing key trends and opportunities, in home and new markets.

Our work in unlocking financial services continues through the range of solutions covered in the ‘Gender mobilisation section’ of this website.
